Dear Neighbors, Below is a response one of our volunteers, who wishes to remain anonymous, received from Sylvia Jimenez at SF Planning. It will take another 12 weeks before they can assign a planner to the proposed cannabis site at 18th Ave & Taraval St.

We'd like to share the following comment from an area code 94122 resident who signed our petition. "We moved into the neighborhood in 2018. Since then we have witnessed the ebb a flow of the area, most of which has been positive but, some of which that has turned out to be negative. I am also a consumer of THC products. My personal belief is that adding a cannabis dispensary into the community at this time would have detrimental effects to the safety and security of our streets. Sample Letter to Supervisors and Office of Cannabis

Dear Supervisors and San Francisco Office of Cannabis, I live at ­­­­__________and have serious concerns with regards to the proposed cannabis dispensary opening at 18th Avenue & Taraval Street by the owners of The Gold Mirror Restaurant.  The intersection at 18th & Taraval Street is a busy, traffic congested one used by families and children who walk to and from nearby schools, afterschool programs, and child-centric businesses as well as individuals who patronize a Safeway market and other surrounding businesses.  I am concerned about the following:  1) dispensary clientele causing motor vehicle accidents while driving in our neighborhood under the influence of marijuana and hurting our children and neighborhood residents, 2) violent crime being brought to our neighborhood by a marijuana dispensary,  3) exposure and normalization of marijuana products to neighborhood children, and 4)  the illegal location of the dispensary opening up less than 30...
