Matt Boschetto for D7 Supervisor
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
I am a registered Democrat voter. However, I find it ironic how Democrats demonize Donald Trump and the Republican party, accusing them as being authoritarian with no regard for laws, rules, or the democratic process, while at the same time, Democrats are guilty of doing the same thing. I am not a Trump supporter as I do agree he has an authoritarian bent, but at the same time I do not support hypocrisy and authoritarian threats from my own party, and will point it out wherever I see it.
For example, in my last blog, I wrote about my own neighborhood's voice being stripped and crippled when we objected to the Gold Mirror cannabis dispensary opening on 18th Ave & Taraval St., or how our neighbors' voices across the state of California are consistently suppressed for their opposition to the new housing laws and regulations that are being forced upon our cities, including San Francisco, by state officials. The city and state officials guilty of undermining the democratic process and refusing to listen to their own constituents in these case are Democrats themselves, not Republicans.
Another example I recently learned about with implications at the federal level is the Florida Secretary of State gave the Florida Democratic Party the right to unilaterally decide who to put on the Florida primary ballot to represent Democrats in the 2024 presidential election. The party only included Joe Biden on the ballot and excluded other candidates who are running, such as Marianne Williamson, Dean Phillips, and Cenk Uygur. Why is this? Why are Democrats breaking the rules and not allowing legitimate candidates from their own party run on the Florida ballot? Marianne and Cenk did a press conference on this issue a few days ago on December 1st.
As you can see, it's very disturbing to see politicians from your own party committing the same errors and wrongdoings that they are accusing the other party of doing. Again, why the hypocrisy, and where and when does it end? Well, it seems it must end with us, the voters, when we start supporting and electing candidates who value the voice and will of their constituents. In other words, candidates who are committed to preserving a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, and not a government of politicians, by politicians, and for politicians, which is where we are headed, if we are not there already.
I believe Matt Boschetto is one of those candidates, and he is running for San Francisco's District 7 Supervisor in 2024. I have only known Matt for a few months, but in that short time, he has made an indelible impact on me and I firmly believe he is the right person for our district. I made the decision to support Matt, because he actually believes in the democratic values and principles our country was founded on and will fight for them when he is in office. You also have the opportunity to meet Matt and make the decision for yourself as he will be appearing at the Squat & Gobble in West Portal for a Meet & Greet this Friday, Dec. 8th at 8:30am. You can RSVP here.
Thank you always for your time and enjoy the rest of your week.
Sincerely,
Lefteris Eleftheriou
