Save the Date! Public Hearing Has Been Set.

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

The Gold Mirror Cannabis Dispensary Public Hearing has been set.

Date: Thursday, Jan 5th, 2023
Time: 1pm
Place: City Hall

The agenda will be posted on the Office of Planning's web site one week prior to the hearing date, along with the WebEx link. Please attend in person or via WebEx or phone, and provide your comments to the planning commissioners, much like we did at the GWPNA meeting earlier this month.

After hearing our comments, the planning commissioners will vote amongst themselves whether to approve the permit for the Gold Mirror dispensary or not. The more people who attend and voice their opposition, the better chance we have of convincing the planning commission to reject the permit.

If you need any language assistance, please let us know which languages and we will arrange for interpreters to be at the hearing. Please stay tuned to our web site for more details.

Finally we will be holding a neighborhood pre-hearing meeting on Thursday, Dec. 29th, 6pm at Happy Day Preschool on 809 Taraval Street. Please attend as we will review our main opposition points we would like to voice during the hearing.

However, I find it ironic how Democrats demonize Donald Trump and the Republican party, accusing them as being authoritarian with no regard for laws, rules, or the democratic process, while at the same time,  Democrats are guilty of doing the same thing. Public Hearing Date Set for Gold Mirror Dispensary

Dear Friends & Neighbors, (中文版本将跟随英文版本) The hearing date for the Gold Mirror cannabis dispensary ( proposed name "Green Mirror") has been set for Thursday, January 5th, 2023. This will be a hybrid meeting with both in-persona and online access. Time, location, and Zoom link for the hearing will be shared soon. It's imperative you join us, preferably in person, as this will make a stronger impression on the planning commissioners, who will vote during the hearing whether or not to approve the cannabis permit for the Gold Mirror.  Some background information..... What About the Housing Mandates (Part 2/2)

Dear Friends & Neighbors, In case you missed it, we held our housing townhall last Tuesday, 2/13, at Miraloma Clubhouse. We had a modest turnout, and an excellent dialogue with panelists and neighbors surrounding the pros and cons of the new housing mandates. Matt Boschetto, who is running for D7 Supervisor, hosted and moderated the townhall. I believe there will be a video recording of the event coming out soon. I will share it with you when it is ready. In Part 1 of this blog,  I wrote how the new densification and upzoning laws are being forced upon the city by the state, without proper feedback or consensus from the neighborhoods themselves. One of the panelists at the townhall, Mr. Corey Smith, from  Housing Action Coalition , made it clear that municipalities no longer have the choice of "opting out" of these new laws. Sacramento has set very specific guidelines for how many new units to build and by when, and so now, it's up to us to figure out how to do this. ...
