Neighborhood Cleanup 18th & Taraval Street

FOPSWP has proudly partnered with RefuseRefuseSF.org to host our first monthly cleanup event. 

Date: Sunday, Oct. 2nd, 2022
Time: 2-4pm
Location: Happy Days Preschool, 809 Taraval Street, San Francisco, CA 94116 
(corner of 18th Ave & Taraval Street)


We will provide pickers, garbage bags, and safety vests, and pick up trash on Taraval Street between 16th Ave and 22nd Ave.  Tell your friends!

The purpose of the cleanup is to tidy up our neighborhood, meet our neighbors, and educate others on the proposed opening of a cannabis dispensary at the Gold Mirror restaurant. In addition, we will provide information on the pitfalls and broken promises of California's legalized cannabis market, a multibillion dollar industry that is estimated to be the largest legal weed market in the world.

However, I find it ironic how Democrats demonize Donald Trump and the Republican party, accusing them as being authoritarian with no regard for laws, rules, or the democratic process, while at the same time,  Democrats are guilty of doing the same thing. Public Hearing Date Set for Gold Mirror Dispensary

Dear Friends & Neighbors, (中文版本将跟随英文版本) The hearing date for the Gold Mirror cannabis dispensary ( proposed name "Green Mirror") has been set for Thursday, January 5th, 2023. This will be a hybrid meeting with both in-persona and online access. Time, location, and Zoom link for the hearing will be shared soon. It's imperative you join us, preferably in person, as this will make a stronger impression on the planning commissioners, who will vote during the hearing whether or not to approve the cannabis permit for the Gold Mirror.  Some background information..... What About the Housing Mandates (Part 2/2)

Dear Friends & Neighbors, In case you missed it, we held our housing townhall last Tuesday, 2/13, at Miraloma Clubhouse. We had a modest turnout, and an excellent dialogue with panelists and neighbors surrounding the pros and cons of the new housing mandates. Matt Boschetto, who is running for D7 Supervisor, hosted and moderated the townhall. I believe there will be a video recording of the event coming out soon. I will share it with you when it is ready. In Part 1 of this blog,  I wrote how the new densification and upzoning laws are being forced upon the city by the state, without proper feedback or consensus from the neighborhoods themselves. One of the panelists at the townhall, Mr. Corey Smith, from  Housing Action Coalition , made it clear that municipalities no longer have the choice of "opting out" of these new laws.
